: : I'm planning to tour around the Ukraine this coming summer and would like any advice that people living there could give me relating to train travel, hotels, money requirements, food, safety, language problems, meeting people of the country especially some charming ladies, evenings out etc. and anything else that would help to make a good visit.
: : All responses would be appreciated.

: There are quite a few websites on that topic. The best ones in my opinion are: http://www.uazone.net/ukraine.html

: If you need any other help or some specific info, please ask.

Hello from Toronto, Canada:

My suggestion to you who are travelling to and in Ukraine, is this.
Safety is a great factor. If the Ukrainian Mafia gets wind that an American tourist
is freely circulating around their cities, their methods of obtaining American $$$
are not pleasant. I had a friend in Kharkov, who received $10,000.00 from a Christian
charity in America. The mafia came into their dwelling, demanding the money. (how
they found out, is speculation) but after they were given the money, they demanded
more. "That's all I have" the victim replied. The robbers, then took a kitchen knife
and cut the mans' throat in front of his wife. There is no recourse to this tragedy.
As for girls, easy to find, because they all want to come to America. All I can say is
"Tourist Beware." Though Ukraine needs foreign currency.
