I am responding to your message on the Ukraine board. Regarding driving to Odessa or Yalta I would advise you not to as it is a 12-14 hour trip to Odessa & Yalta much more. You will have problems with the roads and almost for sure the police.
I am a US businessman with a real estate firm in Odessa and you either fly or take the train from my experience. First class on an overnight train is not bad nor expensive.
Odessa is alot of fun and more user riendly for non-Russian speakers than Yalta with good beaches, bars, eateries and good looking women.
